Middle School ECS Teacher

Jessica earned her degree in Political Science from University of North Carolina at Greensboro before returning to the university to obtain her initial licensure in Special Education.

Beginning her teaching career in Onslow County, Jessica and her family eventually relocated back to her hometown of Durham. Jessica went on to teach in Wake County before joining Durham Public Schools. During her time there, she was recognized as the DPS District-Level EC Teacher of the Month in January 2023 and was later named Teacher of the Year in 2025. After 12 years in public education, Jessica joined Learn with the Best in 2026, where she continues her passion for supporting and advocating for vulnerable and marginalized students throughout their academic and social development.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her son, diving into Google research rabbit holes, advocating for human rights, reading, and hiking.
