    Transportation

    Feelings, Greetings, & Breathing Techniques
We will kick off summer camp with an exciting adventure as we zoom into our Transportation unit! Throughout the week, students will explore different types of transportation, including cars, trains, boats, and airplanes, through engaging, hands-on activities.

In addition to learning about transportation, students will focus on important social-emotional and communication skills. These include identifying and labeling feelings, greeting peers appropriately, using simple breathing techniques, and pretending to be community helpers connected to transportation. Students will also practice initiating play with peers, compromising, and engaging in cooperative play, helping to build a strong foundation for positive social interactions as we begin our summer camp experience.

  • Week 2 - July 13-17, 2026

Calming Techniques & Helpful vs. Hurtful Choices
Week two will be cute and cuddly, filled with wagging tails and friends who live in shells as we learn all about pets! Students will explore different types of pets and discuss how we care for animals in loving and responsible ways.

During this week, students will be introduced to our friend Tucker Turtle, who will help teach calming strategies for times when emotions feel overwhelming. Through guided discussions and activities, students will learn to identify helpful and hurtful choices and practice making positive behavioral decisions. These skills will support students in managing emotions, interacting with peers, and creating a safe and supportive summer camp environment.

Throughout the week, students will also focus on developing problem-solving and communication skills. They will practice taking turns during games and while building with blocks. When challenges arise—such as a friend taking a toy, a structure being knocked down, or a tower falling on its own—students will learn and practice appropriate ways to express their feelings, ask for help, and work through problems with peers.

While stacking and building animal enclosures with blocks, students will practice taking turns, working cooperatively, and using descriptive language to explain their creations. When challenges arise—such as a structure being knocked down by a peer or falling on its own—students will learn and practice appropriate communication skills to express their feelings, ask for help, and work through conflicts in a positive way.
