An Eastern NC native, Sherrie has lived in the Cary / Raleigh area for many years. She is lucky enough to live right across the street from her two young granddaughters, Emma and Olivia.
Sherrie brings to us many years of experience working with children, typically developing and those special needs. She holds an Early Childhood Diploma, NC Credentials I & II, School Age Certification, seizure disorder training, knowledge of sign language, infant / toddler certification, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), CPR / First Aid certification and experience in the field of education for over 25 years.
She has worked with a variety of children with special needs, including Down Syndrome, children on the Autism Spectrum, children who are medically fragile and kids with developmental delays. Sherrie has worked as a caregiver, one on one specialist, and instructional support specialist and truly feels passionate about her work.
Sherrie enjoys the outdoors and goes tent camping as often as she can. She loves hiking, knitting and going to the beach. She volunteers in the community and also spends time away from work as a post-partum Doula helping new mothers adjust to parenthood.
