Extended Core Educator
Ms. Player is a native North Carolinian from Farmville, NC. Having obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University in Adapted Special Education, Player worked for over 5 years as a CAP worker for Autism Society of North Carolina and A Small Miracle Inc. both before and after college. She then moved into teaching in both Pitt and Wake Counties as a Special Education Adapted Curriculum teacher, working primarily with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Previously being a theatre major in Manhattan, Player uses music in therapeutic ways and has found it to be a great tool to help students with disabilities. Growing up with her own learning differences, Player knows the struggle our children face every day and has dedicated her life to helping students reach their full potential---regardless of their disability.
I believe that every Child can learn and reach their full potential, no matter what his or her disability---they just need a teacher who believes in them and never gives up! I WILL NEVER give up on my students. I know their potential and it is my job to help them reach it.
