Registered Behavior Technician
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Melissa completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services with a Family and Child Welfare concentration in 2016 with Kaplan University. While completing her degree, she worked online to earn her certificate in American Sign Language. Melissa’s goal was to be of support to the deaf community as well as to teach early language/communication skills to children in the daycares in which she worked for about 4 years.
New to the North Carolina area, and after years of wanting to move down here from Pennsylvania, Melissa finally took the plunge in March of 2018 just after earning her Registered Behavior Technician certificate. Having worked with children for many years, she has found a passion for working with children with autism and other disabilities as well as typically developing children. Melissa is very excited to be on staff at Learn with the Best’s ABA Clinic!
I love working with children and their families to move toward a common goal, the improvement and progression of a child’s life inside the home and in the community. Each child is different and that is what truly draws me to this field, watching each individual child excel and flourish in ways that are geared specifically to them.
