Middle School Teacher
While tutoring her classmates in the Chemical Engineering program at Louisiana Tech, Jodie quickly realized she wanted to teach. The following year she enrolled in a dual-major program for Elementary and Special Education at Louisiana State University that included an extensive hands-on classroom experience each semester. By the time she graduated, she had already created curriculum and worked with students for more than 150 hours in addition to her student teaching experience.
During the next 18 years, she designed and taught curriculum for students in grades K-8, provided staff training for differentiating curriculum in the classroom to meet multiple learning needs, served as a mentor for new teachers, earned her National Boards in Middle Childhood (4-8), and helped start two new charter schools.
In addition to teaching, Jodie loves spending time in her art studio creating whatever comes to mind, doing yoga, growing microgreens, and traveling. She's excited to be a part of the Learn with the Best School family and looks forward to a fantastic year!
