RBT - Registered Behavior Technician
Jessica was born in New Bern, North Carolina and moved to Johnston County when she was 11. After high school, she went to Western Carolina University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Work. During her time at Western, Jessica also studied recreational therapy learning more about individuals with disabilities and adapting their every day activities to suit their lives. Jessica loves working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and has been doing so since 2008.
Before moving to Learn with the Best, Jessica worked with ACI Support Specialists serving individuals with a myriad of learning and behavioral challenges. She has worked with children spanning elementary through high school and adults with an emphasis on Autism and related disorders. She is proficient in assisting with skill acquisition in social engagement and interaction, fine and gross motor movement, language, aggressive behaviors, and all levels of play.
Jessica will be pursuing a graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis to become a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Her goals are to grow in her knowledge and proficiency while making an impact on the lives of the children she works with. At Learn with the Best, she functions as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and is excited to engage with all students while learning and growing in the field.
