Registered Behavior Technician
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Brittany has lived in the Raleigh, NC area for many years. She attended North Carolina State University to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and is also a Wolfpack fan! Her interest in the special needs population was first piqued when she gained an internship and then was hired with the Autism Society of North Carolina in 2011. During her time there, she was a direct support professional and worked with individuals of all ages on the autism spectrum. She provided services in the home, community and clinical settings. This experience led to increased interest in working with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, more specifically, using the principles of applied behavior analysis to maximize their skills and abilities.
Brittany became a Registered Behavior Technician in 2015 prior to completing her Masters of Education specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, in 2016. She completed it through a distance learning program with the University of Cincinnati. Brittany is currently working to obtain experience hours to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and is passionate about supporting the children and young adults in our ABA clinic and at our school. Her belief is that all people are individuals, and they all have different, unique needs.
In her free time, Brittany enjoys camping and four-wheeling. She especially enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and their two pit bulls.
There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do.
