High School Educator
Ariel is new to the area after living in Wilmington, NC for the past 10 years. Along with her two dogs, she brings with her 6 years of experience working as an educator and advocate for people with a variety of abilities in the home, school, and community setting with individuals between the ages of 5 and 55.
She received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education - General Curriculum (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-6) in 2013 and a Master of Education in Language and Literacy degree in 2018 from the University of North Carolina- Wilmington.
Ariel’s career took off in 2013 working one on one with clients in a group home / day learning center called Autism Supports and Programs. This position lead to a full-time position in Pender County where she taught 3rd through 5th grade students in a self-sustained academics classroom. After 3 years, Ariel sought an opportunity for growth for herself and her students and attended graduate school with a focus on language and literacy. From there, she transitioned to teaching English, Resource, and Occupational Preparation courses at Laney High School. She has now moved closer to the triangle area to find her niche and focus her expertise and passions in her position as a middle / high school teacher here at LWTB School.
Her mission is to empower students and build relationships, while facilitating learning experiences that will help people in their journey of becoming good citizens and living a happy life.
